Max and his family have been farming pumpkins, corn, beans and melons in the Burdekin Region for over thirty years.
Max believes that farming can become more sustainable by using less artificial fertilizers absorbing atmospheric carbon.
Through this program, Max has undertaken new farm management practices including reduced use of nitrogen fertilizer and the application of soil biological stimulants.
These practices result in increased organic material in the soil, fed by CO2 from the air.
Max is issued with a carbon credit for every ton of CO2 that is absorbed into the soil. |
